The St. Cloud All-City Marching Band (SCAC) based in St. Cloud, Minnesota is an extensive marching arts program consisting of an award winning Marching Band, Winter Guard and Winter Drumline. SCAC is comprised primarily of students in grades 7-12 from School District 742 and any neighboring community that does not offer similar opportunities.
You wouldn't know it by looking out the window, but the 2010 summer marching season is already heating up. This summer we already have about 12 parades planned – not to mention an awesome trip to sunny Southern California. Attend informational meetings tentatively scheduled for February 22 at Apollo and February 25 at Tech. Both meetings are scheduled for 7pm. Visit back for more information. Learn more.
The St. Cloud All-City WInter Drumline is taking their show to the big stage at the Paramount Theatre on Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th as part of LEAF's Ninth Annual Night Of The Stars Variety Show. The St. Cloud All-City WInter Drumline got the season off to a great start with a first-place finish at the Rocori High School Drumfest. The SCAC Drumline competed against three other area drumlines in the Scholastic A Marching Class. Way to go!
Believe it or not, Spring is just around the corner – and so is planting season. Take advantage of this great fundraising opportunity. Last year there were students who completely funded their summer marching accessments before the season even started. Contact Diane Farleo with questions.
Two major fundraisers are in the works to help defer costs of this summer's trip. On April 24, there will be a "Casino Run" Bus Trip to Treasure Island Casino. On May 22nd, a dinner, silent auction and "Half-Steps" concert will be held. Details will be posted as they become available.
Casino Run: Seats are filling up for the "Casino Run" Bus. Whether you're a gambler or not, this event will be a blast. And for only $20 it's a GREAT value. Download the form and get it to LeAnn with payment for your tickets. Print out as many as you need. Invite friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers. The more people we get, the less the summer trip will cost and the more fun it will be. Feel free to email LeAnn with questions.
Silent Auction: The Silent Auction Fundraiser event will be held at the Moose Lodge in Waite Park beginning at 5pm. We've already got a great start with a few auction ideas like Twins tickets, jewelry and various baskets, but we need more. Lots more. Consider donating items for the silent auction. Let's make this a great fundraiser. Contact Angie Theisen with auction items. And stay tuned for details!
There are several slots to fill for the practice schedule. It only takes a couple of hours and you get to experience first-hand the hard work and energy of the students. We also need a few folks willing to drive the van/trailer to events. Plus, chaperoning gets you into the events for free! Contact Kristi Arndt with questions or to sign up.
Interested in earning up to $60 for your assessments? We need a few workers for upcoming dates at the Metrodome. Please contact LeAnne Troxel at 320-253-9468.
