Head Director
Gary Zwack -  Band Proper
Gary has been the Head Director of the St. Cloud All-City Marching Band since 1998. He was previously on the staff of the
marching band in the late 80’s and continues the tradition of excellence today.

Since 1990 Gary has been the Director of Bands at Tech High School in St. Cloud where he oversees a program of 160 students
in 3 concert bands, 2 jazz ensembles, Dixieland Band, Pep Band and lessons.

In addition to the school bands and marching band Gary performs in The Half Steps, an acapella quartet; plays saxophone in The
Nothernaires Big Band; is the state coordinator for The Minnesota High School Music Listening Contest (which his school teams
have won the state championship 6 times); is a board member on the Arts Advisory Council for the College of St. Benedict and St.
John’s University; has worked as a coordinator for the Local Education Activities Foundation (L.E.A.F.) fundraiser “Night of the
Stars” which features district students and staff; is parade chair for the inaugural St. Cloud Granite City Days Parade in 2007; has
worked for more than 20 years with the Central Minnesota Together Encountering Christ retreat program; performs music regularly
at St. Paul’s Church in St. Cloud; is often found emceeing local events; has a hobby of artistically carving watermelons and
pumpkins for special events; and weekly plays goalie in the Old Timers ice hockey league.

Colorguard Staff
Zoe Kulick Norrgard - Director
Zoe graduated from Milaca High School in 2002 where she marched the summer guard for two years.  She is currently a senior at
Hamline University pursuing a political science degree.  She also works as a server at Patrick McGovern's in downtown St. Paul.
Her marching experience includes 2 seasons with the Milaca High School Marching Band, 4 seasons with Southwind Drum and
Bugle Corps, 1 season with Avid Independent A winterguard, and 2 seasons with Paradigm Independent World Winterguard.
Previous teaching experience includes Blaine High School winterguard and Marching Band, Chamberlain Winterguard and
Marching Band, Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, and Rosemount High School Marching Band (where she still currently

Percussion Staff
Jay Coopersmith - Director
Jay Coopersmith has been percussion caption head since 1998. He is a 1989 graduate of the Henry Sibley High School
Marching Band. Since graduation, Jay has performed with numerous ensembles, show bands and Minnesota Brass Inc. His
instruction experience includes Henry Sibley High School, Dassel Cokato High School, Irondale High School, Hastings High
School, Simley High School, Chopstix Percussion (Chops, Inc.), So. St. Paul High School, Cadets of North Metro Drumline, MN Brass Inc., Racine Scouts Drum Corp and Blaine High School. In 2007 Jay was inducted into the Minnesota Percussion Association's Hall of Fame. Jay has been with St. Cloud All City for the past 11 years as the Director of our Percussion Staff.

Nate Earp - Assistant

Nate was a member of the St. Cloud All-City Drumline from 2001 until he graduated high school in 2004.  Nate then moved on to Junior corp and marched snare for the Blue Stars in 2006 and 2007 under Brent  Montgomery.  Now a member of Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps (MBI) he marches with the new Independent open MBI indoor drumline.   Nate currently resides in the frozen tundra they call Duluth as he tries to quickly finish his degree in Mathematics at the University of Minnesota - Duluth Campus.  Contact [ Nate Earp ]



Tracy "Beef" Weber - Assistant

Tracy was a member of the St. Cloud All-City Marching Band & Winter Drumline from 1999 till she graduated high school in 2003. Tracy graduated from St. Cloud State University with an Associates in Arts degree in 2006 then graduated with an LPN degree from Central Lakes College – Brainerd , MN in 2007. Tracy currently works as a nurse in a nursing home in St. Cloud along with
instructing the All-City drumline. Contact [
